Frequently Asked Questions
What is FerAppease MBAS?
The active ingredient of FerAppease is a synthetic analogue of the Maternal Bovine Appeasing Substance (MBAS). MBAS is naturally secreted by the sebaceous gland located on the skin of the mammary gland with the unique function of inducing an appeasing effect on the nursing offspring.
FerAppease is topically applied, and the active ingredient (MBAS) is assimilated by the vomeronasal gland located in the nose of the animals. The MBAS stimulation of the vomeronasal gland desensitizes regions of the amygdala and the hypothalamus, dramatically decreasing threat perception and its downstream stress consequences.
How do you apply FerAppease?

We weaned Saturday and the cows and calves have settled down faster.. The bunk is cleaned out too! I transported some bred heifers and put it on just before loading. 500 miles later, they unloaded quietly from first trip on a freeway six lanes of traffic. New owner said they processed really well and went right to feed and water.. I also used it on cows going to kill plant. Unloading was easier in my opinion..
Weaned a group of calves at around 8 in the morning. Used ferappease on all the calves. All day and all night there was no bawling from the calves just the cows. All the calves was eating and drinking and laying around. Ferappease made a believer out of me I have never had calves this quite during weaning. Will be using this product everytime I wean calves now
I had a shipping issue and called the customer service number. They were extremely helpful and had the issue rectified before I was even off the call. The product itself works as well as anything else for my show string. It’s not a miracle drug if one is crazy but it will help take the edge off
We have a 50% Braunvieh x 50% Brahman heifer that was destined for the show ring, until we figured out her disposition is horrible. We figured we would give this a last ditch effort before taking her to the auction barn.
We used as directed and we did see some improvement, I would say 40-45% better, but she is still unmanageable. We will be taking her to the auction barn ring, not the show ring.
If you are like me and like to find something worth the money, this might not be it. I just started using this product for show steers and I am undecided at this time. I don't think it started acting immediately, but it does seem to work overtime. I am not 100% certain I would recommend this to anyone that is excepting a miracle change in their beef. But I am still deciding if I will purchase more or not. The county fair is in a week and then I will know if it actually helped. Thanks
